Miami Book Fair International

posterThe Miami Book Fair International began yesterday and will last through November 15th. This exciting literary event began in 1984 and has grown into one of the nation’s finest literary events.

The centerpiece of the book fair is the Festival of Authors.  More than 350 authors will be reading and discussing their work.  Among the noted authors who have already confirmed are Margaret Atwood, Al Gore, Barbara Kingsolver and Ralph Nader.

The Festival of Authors takes place during Street Fair Weekend (Friday, November 13th through Sunday, November 15th).  In addition to authors,  the Street Fair will have more than 250 publishers and booksellers exhibiting and selling books.  Special features include the antiquarians, who showcase of signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.

  1. That’s interesting. I don’t follow what authors do for fun, so I had no idea this kind of thing existed. There’s some kind of author gathering in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan every year, too. I only heard about it after it was too late to consider attending this time around. Maybe next year. It’s at least in my province, and at a spa…
